12 October 2018
This afternoon I finished work early and headed up to Dunsborough to meet up with Lazarus to do some caching together
There was a new lot of caches which involved some 4wding to get to
These had been published for the event WA Goes Big 2018
Once we arrived at the start of the series we met up with Barnsy and Cravo
Soon after Mistraluna arrived and joined my vehicle
We had two vehicles and set off in convoy finding caches as we went
We had started at the Southern part of the series and was doing them in reverse order
The first part of the road was a nice gravel road but soon became a sandy fire trail
The weather had been a bit wet recently so the sand was easily negotiated and fairly firm packed
There were a few sections at the top of ridges which had patches of exposed limestone boulders in the track which took careful negotiation
After bottoming out on a large boulder I realised that I needed to have one of the passengers jump out and guide me through the boulders
It was an enjoyable afternoon with some great views along the coastline
When we reached the 3 Bears carpark we stopped and watched as many whales could be seen as they came up to breath and breaching
We ended the series here as it was getting late in the day and we wanted to attend an event nearby which was a part of the WA Goes Big main event
We managed to find 39 caches in the series
The exclamation marks mean that the cache log is in draft mode until I managed to go on line and log them as found on the computer
I wait to do this later so that I can record my trackables in the log as having visited
They then change to smilies
We dropped Barnsy and Cravo back to the start point and Mistraluna followed me in her vehicle to back to Dunsborough where we had some dinner from Peko Peko
After our dinner we went to the Pre WA Goes big event to meet up with some of the other cachers
I logged an attended at the event and found another traditional cache out the front of the event site before heading back home to Margaret River for the night
