Cache 4
After the trials of the Bib track caches it was almost a relief to find a 'park and grab'
Albany Run 6 - North Bannister GC5YAJ4
From here in North Bannister we headed east once more on the N.Banister - Wandering Rd.
Mistraluna chose to make a slight detour off our track to tackle a couple of caches which she had previously DNF'd
Cache 5
Bratty No1 GC3RK9T
The bush track in to this one was a piece of cake after the previous efforts for today. We were able to park about 250m from the cache and walk through fairly open bush to find the cache
I have a suspicion that this is the area where I managed to pick up a tick as there was quite a lot of wallaby poo around, still itchy now 😡
Easy find and signed the log, then off to the next one
Cache 6
Another slight detour off the main road and into the bush for Mistraluna to avenge another DNF
Luckily we were able to park fairly close and walk to the cache for an easy find and sign the log then it was back on the road heading for Wandering
Cache 7
Today had been a long day and it was a bit of a drive to Wandering, I have to admit that getting up before 5am this morning was starting to take its toll
I was with some relief to be able to stop and have a bit of a walk around and even use the public facilities to freshen up
Trigger GC3C7EG
An easy find for Mistraluna, log signed and cache replaced before moving on to the next one
Staying close by for a few more finds, we went to the local RV park/camp ground to check out a cache nearby
We had a drive around the RV park to check out the facilities as I would have enjoyed the luxury of a shower but we decided to continue on to a pre determined camp ground not too far away to camp for the night
But first we had to pick up the rest of the caches in town
Cache 8
The Time Capsule GC74VVE
This was quite close to the RV park but it took a bit of a drive around to work out the best access, even then we missed the track that would have taken us just a short distance from GZ, Ha Ha
It didn't take very long to figure out something was wrong here, the whole area was mostly bare of vegetation to a wide radius of the cache and seems a fire had been through here a while ago
A quick check of previous posts confirmed our suspicions due to some DNFs and a note from CO
We logged a DNF and with the daylight slipping away we moved on
Cache 9
A quick park and grab here, Mistraluna did the logging duties while I turned the vehicle around for a quick getaway
Too bad you didn't make this a multi Blingg, Ha Ha
Cache 10
FRP Wandering #2 GC3C7FN
A quick park and grab here, Mistraluna did the logging duties while I had a bit of a look at the gravestones
This seems to be a family plot as the graves are arranged in groups of same surnames
Moving on now to our camp site for the night at Gnaala Mia campground
We arrived in the dark and drove around a couple of times before we decided on setting up at the first spot we looked at, Ha Ha
After setting up camp I cooked up our first dinner for the trip
I had some beef stew left over from a batch I had cooked before leaving and heated that up with some packet rice and steamed vegies.
We settled in to our camp beds for a well deserved nights sleep after such and epic day
