Holland Track Adventure, Nov 2018, Day 5
It was another early start for us this morning
Today was to be the last day of driving the Holland Track and we were all excited to get to the end
Before leaving camp we did a bit of a clean-up of some trash which had been thoughtlessly left behind by some previous travellers then it was back in the vehicles and on the road once again
Our first stop of the day and a cache to log
DD3-19 The Last Post North GC2E47H
Here we found the cache to be in a poor state. Luckily we were carrying a few spare containers so after a clean out of the trash we popped the log in a new container and re-hid where we found it
We got some pics of the area and continued on
Agnes Gnamma Hole
Continuing on we came to
Cruzin' #4 GCVRW3
A large camp area here with a fire pit and a table with seats.
We parked and went to the top of the rock to find the cache and enjoy the views of the surrounding area. There were also some flowering trees giving a good show.
This was our last find along the Holland Track and we continued on to the end of the track at the junction of Victoria Rock road
We stopped here to get a group photo of our vehicles at the end of the track
Sadly we had come to the end of our Holland Track adventure but our journey did not finish here
The journey would continue with many more caches to be found along the way
Here at the junction of the Holland Track and Victoria Rock road we turned north driving for a short distance to the Victoria Rock nature reserve about 48k from Coolgardie.
We stopped in the car park and found a shelter with some interesting information panel and nearby drop toilets.
While we were here we made ourselves a quick lunch and then went for a walk to the top of the nearby rock to look at some of the various features.
We now headed towards Coolgardie where we would set up camp for the night at the local caravan park
Once we had selected our spot and placed our ground mat down with a couple of folding chairs to stop it blowing away we went for a drive around town to grab a few caches before the afternoon got too late
Our first stop was
This was an interesting old ore carrier plonked outside the railway station
We spent a lot of time looking in every conceivable spot but gave up after about a half hour
I got my hands very greasy from the disgusting axel grease covered wool and had to breakout the dishwashing liquid to rub into my hands to get it off, YUK!!!!!
I suggest if you plan to tackle this one that you bring a pair of disposable gloves
Later one of our travel companions came up with a find and we could sign the log an claim a smilie
Not a fun hunt
Then next destination was
Old School Rockers GC3KX9C
We had a bit of a false start taking the wrong road in and after a bit of back tracking and taking an alternate route to get near the cache from the Coolgardie Nth rd and driving alongside the pipeline until we got close enough to set off on foot
I have to say this was no easy task, firstly climbing over the pipeline then walking up a steep, loose rocky slope was a mission.
Luckily Mistraluna found the cache while I was busy getting photos of the old shaker.
I felt a bit nervous about encroaching on someone's old gold claim but everything looked like it had not been touched for a very long time
Clever hide of cache
Our next cache was at a lookout at the top of the hill overlooking the town
DD3-8 Bayleys South Head Frame GC28NPH
Again while I was busy taking photos Mistraluna had found the cache, ha ha
The view from up here was great and as the sun was getting lower the landscape was glowing a nice orange colour

The food was pretty basic but cheap and very good quality
I had the rump steak which was brilliantThe food was pretty basic but cheap and very good quality
After dinner it was a short stroll back to the caravan park for a cuppa and chat before turning in for the night
It had been another awesome adventure today and we were looking forward to the next days caching and continuing the adventure
